I'm far more interested now than I was when it first dropped.
It’s garbage. You’ll love it.

Joe did you see my review of Blackkklansman? Would leave to hear your thoughts, I think you mentioned you saw it but I couldn't find any sort of review. I can't stop thinking about it!
I did see your review. I didn't take issue with any of it. I also think it's Spike's best film in decades. Top 5 film of the year for sure.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

:hooray:
Also, I've never felt that way in a movie theater after a film before. The silence. The sense of community and togetherness. It was palpable and visceral. We were all in tears. People were hugging each other. It was a unique experience for me and one I'll always remember.

Black Klansman
Disobedience
Crazy Rich Asians
A Quiet Place
Black Panther
Tully

Off the top of my head. Those were all good to fucking GREAT. Still, though, it has been a pretty lackluster year.

I know you're joking. And I laughed fwiw.

But actually no. I've never left a theater in such thick silence.

This makes sense. It's the only place in NYC that I like seeing movies. It's the only place I can go where audiences respect the movie theater experience.

It's the only one on the list that I could see you digging. I could also see you hating it. But it's so goddamn bananas that it could be your jam.

tragabigzanda wrote:For Spike's top five, I'd probably go:

Do The Right Thing
Blackkklansman
25th Hour
Inside Man
Jungle Fever

Time will tell if Blackkklansman retains the #2 spot, but it is definitely up there.
I'm with you on that top 2.
