They just showed a river on the news, and I was like, "oh, that looks really high." Turns out, that was the highway between me and Ruddo.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

You should put in your pontoon and motor on down to Ruddo’s house to make sure it’s ok.

Yeah, and the news is reporting that a lot of it is washed away underneath all of that, so I-40 may be closed for a long time. :(

Houston's freeways were specifically designed for flood mitigation. The Carolinas, not so much.

I disagree. They are gone forever and from now on all transportation in the south will be via low draft boats.

I mean, Wilmington has a port. We can just use the ferries to get people in and out. That'll only add 5 hours to my 2 hour beach trip. I'm sure the coast's tourism industry will survive that.

I'm flying to Orlando tomorrow, I think it will miss that stress though.

But we are expected to get remnants of it here at home on Thursday, and the last thing we need after Florence is more rain.

The best part was the camp of migrant workers who weren't told about the evacuation and were ignored by 911.
