That wasn't a dream. That was an episode of Rebels.VinylGuy wrote:I dreamed about the obi wan movie. It was mostly Obi Wan in Tattoine, drinking hot tea, making some good food, staying up late reading..checking up Yoda and young Luke, watching the horizon. And near the end Maul appears and there is a fucking badass battle.

Really? I never saw that thing.
In my dream the first sequence was shot almost like a Malick movie.

If I didn't watch Clone Wars or Rebels I would have thought the same.bada wrote:I figured they brought Maul back (he can't fight Vader) solely for a Obi Wan movie or a Solo movie on Tatooine where Obi Wan is doing things on the margins without Han's knowledge. Maybe Maul finds out Luke is the son of Anakin or something.
Why can't Maul fight Vader?

Yeah I haven't watched those outside of the odd episode. I meant Obi Wan can't fight Vader in a solo movie so I thought they brought Maul back to fill the bad guy role.

My assumption is they haven't seen each other between Sith and New Hope but yeah sure they could make it work if they really wanted.durdencommatyler wrote:Why can't Obi Wan fight Vader?bada wrote:durdencommatyler wrote:If I didn't watch Clone Wars or Rebels I would have thought the same.bada wrote:I figured they brought Maul back (he can't fight Vader) solely for a Obi Wan movie or a Solo movie on Tatooine where Obi Wan is doing things on the margins without Han's knowledge. yeah, they haven seen each other. if they do a Vader vs Obi Wan fight now, its going to be so weird.bada wrote:My assumption is they haven't seen each other between Sith and New Hope but yeah sure they could make it work if they really wanted.durdencommatyler wrote:Why can't Obi Wan fight Vader?bada wrote:durdencommatyler wrote:If I didn't watch Clone Wars or Rebels I would have thought the same.bada wrote:I figured they brought Maul back (he can't fight Vader) solely for a Obi Wan movie or a Solo movie on Tatooine where Obi Wan is doing things on the margins without Han's knowledge. I don't really see how Vader would stop looking for Obi Wan if he knew for sure he was out there and seeing how Obi Wan presumably wouldn't have been far from Luke the search area is pretty small if they fought again and Obi Wan escaped.

Vader cannot be in the Obi-Wan movie.

He’s well aware of clone Wars and Rebels. He remarked on the eerily accurate Obi wan voice in Clone Wars at some point I believe.
This is totally separate to Maul being in the movie. Nobody knew he was gonna be.

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (5/25/2018)
I disagree. There are several really great ways to include Vader. It would also help lend some real weight to Vader's "Obi Wan once thought as you did" line. I personally think it's a missed opportunity not to include Vader in a minimal capacity. He doesn't need to be (nor should he be) the primary villain/main conflict.Monkey_Driven wrote:Vader cannot be in the Obi-Wan movie.

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (5/25/2018)
There’s absolutely more ways to involve him. Up to and including him fighting Obi wan
‘I've been waiting for you, Obi-Wan. We meet again, at last. The circle is now complete. When I met you I was but the learner. Now, *I* am the master’
That’s open ended as could possibly be.
I don’t think they will go there or even include Vader in a fight but they should at least have him in the film, obsessed with finding Obi wan to destroy him.
The new series of Clone Wars is finishing out with the events of order 66. Were gonna see a lot more about all of it. Hopefully some of it thing into the Kenobi film.
