A PS1 Classic? I don't see a game list, did they announce one?
The system comes pre-loaded with 20 games. Five games have been revealed so far:[1]
Final Fantasy VII
Jumping Flash!
R4: Ridge Racer Type 4
Tekken 3
Wild Arms
Well, they have Tekken 3 so that's a plus right there. I remember when I was dating my wife we'd play that in the arcade and then on the PS1 when it came out. She loved the Tekken games.

Bah, they only have the original controllers with no analog and want to include "genre-defining" games? Not going to happen. I'm actually less excited now and it makes me wonder what the other 15 games are if there's no analog.

Did any PS1 games actually require a DualShock? I played with the original PS1 controllers the entire duration of the console.

I don't know of any that actually required it other than Metal Gear Solid for that Psycho Mantis level. A lot of games made use of it though.

You didn't need Dual Shock for MGS. I beat it without a DualShock.

yeah i guess i had to look it up. there's a part in that battle where if you have dual shock, Mantis gets you to put your controller on the ground and he moves it...lol cheesy but it was neat at the time. So you needed the dual shock to get that part at least.

You'd think there would be a wiki for it but I can't find one at the moment. I know there were a few games that I played with the analog but it could be because I came to the console late enough that the dual shock was the default controller and so I never played the games any other way.

Also I was thinking that most of the games I played have also received PS3/4 upgrades so of course those series won't be on this. I can't wait to see what the remaining 15 games will be.

No power cord included, Sony? That's dumber than the NES Classic's 2 foot controller cord. JFC.

Edit: USB cord included, but not the AC adapter.

Konami: hey, remember when we used to make games?

Honestly I have my SNES Classic on top of my NES Classic and just swap the cables. And controllers, since they work on either.

I always used to disable dual-shock. What a pain in the ass.

I can't justify buying the retro PSone. I still have my original one in the garage somewhere with a shit tonne of games.

It's not even a dual shock controller. WTF?

The library of games will determine if I get one or not.

I wonder how long it'll take to hack it and it turns into something like the S/NES Classics.
