Would love for them to pull off like 7 in a row to clinch. Would hate to back into the playoffs with a Yankees loss.

Clinched a spot in at least the play-in game tonight (lol @ MLB considering that a postseason round).

Backing into a spot is when the loss is required to get in. Not just "hey this is the thing that finally clinched the inevitable"

I was thinking more of how it can affect the team's feeling down the stretch. When they lost to the Yankees on a walk-off grand slam in 2016 but clinched the playoff spot because Baltimore happened to lose at the same time, it felt like backing into the playoffs. It set a horrible tone (they were 1-5 the last week of the season) and you could feel that sweep coming from Cleveland.

Middle bullpen and Kimbrel's new love of walking people and giving up HRs (1.8 BB/9 last year, 4.1 BB/9 this year; 0.6 career HR/9, this season it's double that at 1.3 HR/9).

Man, I wish I wasn't so fucking right all the time.

BTW Kimbrel finished the year with 4.5 BB/9 and 1.0 HR/9. Dangerous numbers.
