Both great songs, but very different.

Spiderwebs is a pure radio pop confection, pasteurized and homogenized into something perfect for the FM market at the time. I kind of have to squint to see the punk roots underneath all the hooks and sex appeal.

Time Bomb is, at its core, a bonafide ska-punk track, simply cleaned and tightened up for the same FM market. But its punk roots are more readily apparent, and it's not trying too hard to give me a boner.

They are both really fine songs, but the aesthetic of Time Bomb is more up my alley. Happy to see this one go either way, though.

Turns out Rancid does nothing for me. I hate No Doubt but this song is probably the only song of theirs that I can stomach.

If Rancid get shut out of the tourney before the quarterfinals, you’ve all failed.
