Re: New BBCodes/changes/suggestions/etc.
I just did some testing, it may be a little complicated. Spotify uses colons in it's URLs, as part of how it differs between playlists, albums and tracks. Because of the way BBCodes work, we can't have it automatically know which of these are being used.
Basically this means potentially we could have 3 different codes. As you know, having 2 different codes for YouTube already causes enough confusion.
If we were to have a single code, what would be preferred? A track, playlist, or album?

We have separate codes for bandcamp tracks and albums.

They're hardly used though. I could see Spotify codes potentially getting a lot of usage.
Would a playlist only option work? I mean, if you want to show just one track, could you add that track to it's own playlist?

Makes the most sense. Most of us know how to post albums and songs.

Any way you guys could make it standard that any links posted in threads open in a new tab?

Re: New BBCodes/changes/suggestions/etc.
Suggestion: a new subforum called "tournament graveyard".
While they're happening, tournaments are confined to their own subforums. But when they end, the subforum is deleted and the host forum (usually Other Bands) is inundated with a bunch of locked tournament threads. Sometimes hundreds of them. This clogs up the board and makes navigating OB a total drag for a while, until the locked threads are pushed down the list.
I propose a new subforum where we dump every tournament thread for archival purposes.

This is an admin issue. Mods can't create new sub-forums.

since when did you care about browsing the traditional (read: not "view active topics") way? This reeks of fraud and an opportunistic appeal to the mods in some sort of jockeying for position.theplatypus wrote:Suggestion: a new subforum called "tournament graveyard".

Re: New BBCodes/changes/suggestions/etc.
Normally we try to wait long enough so that most of the threads are automatically dropped off the first page of that forum, due to not being updated recently.
If this has been an issue, perhaps we haven't waited long enough? If this is more of an issue, it's possible this can be discussed by the mods. I guess we need to see if there are more complaints as this is the first I've heard of it.

What would be the downside of the Tournament Graveyard? Seems like an all-around better solution
