this. one of the things I really love about this band is how each album has its own through line. I definitely feel that way about SWB.dimejinky99 wrote:THe last two really feel connected to me. Really flow into each other.

I'll Still Destroy You is one of the best things they've ever done.Chris_H_2 wrote:The show last night in Milwaukee was pretty good (relative to the other times I've seen them, I'd give it a 7/10). With the exception of the 2 new songs (Quiet Light and Light Years) and Hard to Find, it was pretty much the same show they've been playing since last year. Again, no criticism though.
For me, Empire Line (which is one of my favorites from the new album) was fantastic. Matt admitted before the song that he always fucks it up, but he was spot on last night.
Rylan was a weird, weird choice for a 1st set closer. And with the encores, you know what you're getting after the first song. But still great.
Lastly, they definitely need to play I'll Still Destroy You more (such a great song).
Looking forward to Thursday.

Watching Mistaken for Strangers
This film is so fucking funny and real.
My brother and I are as different and opposite.
It’s a heavy one past all the surface fun.

I loved that film. It also reminded me of my own personal relationship with my brother. Very good film.

Tonight’s set list was tasty. I need to see this band so badly.

I had never listened to any of their stuff until a couple months ago. I don't know that I've ever gotten so into a band so quickly.

Re: The National
High Violet was the first time I heard The National and I was obsessed after my first listen. Like you, I was hooked from the start. I bought the previous albums pretty much immediately and never looked back. I love this band.philpritchard wrote:I had never listened to any of their stuff until a couple months ago. eventhough i've never seen a bad show at MPP, this was basically the same show as the anthem concert last year or any other show from this tour.Revelator wrote:I am so pissed I had to miss the Columbia, MD, show. Fuck
a soap box moment if you allow me, so what happened to this band? they used to be good live. saw them way too many times on this tour and kinda pissed they didnt play more of alligator/boxer/HV into their sets.

they've been posting a bunch of pics of them back in their new york cabin-studio thingy, but never made mention of why they would be there. that's awesome.
by the way, my kid started piano lessons last month. he can play exile vilify, which was the whole reason he wanted to start lessons. i love it.
