This is a big one. It would have been a worthy final

I had to listen to both to be sure; ultimately Basket Case is probably the signature song of this genre of music in my mind. It was my first real introduction to pop/punk and I freaking loved that album as a 14 year old. I loved Smash too, and this was close, but I just can’t get around the impact Basket Case had not only on me, but much more importantly music in general at the time.

Pretty sure there was a stretch in 94 where i my just flipped between Dookie and Smash in my walkman.
