shocker, a shallow, cosmetic 'investigation' in order to grant credibility to captain rape-rage
who would have thunk it possible
just confirm him and let's move on, back to the GOP taking advantage of everyone below the 35% tax bracket

I just assumed they would cancel this nomination and find some Catholic lady judge or something.

Re: The Supreme Court
the only hope is if Trump gets embarrassed because people start tweeting about how kavanaugh cried
trump hates crybabies and men who get shown up by women
the fate of the SCOTUS is in everyone's hands - don't expect the FBI to save you - just tweet about how Kavanaugh is a pussy and then Trump will dump him for being weak!

Re: The Supreme Court
I admit that I had to look up Devil's Triangle on urban dictionary.
"A pretend drinking game made up on 9/27/18 by "Honorable" Brett Kavanaugh when faced with credible allegations of sexual assault put forward by no less than four (so far) women. Devils triangle is a threesome with two men and one woman, not a drinking game like Quarters, as Kavanope would like everyone to believe. Devils triangle can also be defined as a lie told under perjury when a belligerent white male feels cornered when confronted with his own disgusting behavior, most likely with the blessing of a patriarchal and mysogynistic system."

Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

Re: The Supreme Court
This study predates the Kavanaugh nomination, but I wonder if it explains a lot of the political disparity in responses.

Are individuals willing to reduce the suppression of prejudice in order to achieve partisan motivated goals? To answer this question, I fielded an experiment on a module to the 2016 Cooperative Congressional Election Study. The experiment appeared on the pre-selected questionairre and was administered to 1,000 respondents who were interviewed between September 28th and November 6th. The aim of the experiment was to examine whether introducing partisan motivations would influence how people reacted to sexist comments.
In the controlled condition, respondents were given the following hypothetical scenario:
“Imagine that during a conversation, a male acquaintence referred to one woman as ‘a dog’ and then later in the same conversation referred to his wife as ‘a beautiful piece of ass.’”
Respondents were then asked how these comments would make them feel on a five point scale, ranging from “very uncomfortable” to “very comfortable.”
In the treatment group, the same question was asked but attributed to a known political figure. Respondents were given the same five point scale for their responses.

I think it’s reasonable to say that this insult is aimed at her as a reporter rather than as a woman, but...my dude....the optics of standing at a podium with a bunch of dead eyed besuited men and behaving this particular way at this particular time are not great.

Here's what I don't get...why didn't she immediately challenge him on this? Clearly she heard what he said, and I get that it probably gets one flustered, but imagine if she had said, "Would you mind explaining what you meant by what you just said?" Nobody every puts this asshole on the spot.McParadigm wrote:I think it’s reasonable to say that this insult is aimed at her as a reporter rather than as a woman, but...my dude....the optics of standing at a podium with a bunch of dead eyed besuited men and behaving this particular way at this particular time are not great.

Re: The Supreme Court
I know we're moving on to the "ok, he didn't rape anybody, but he lied about drinking and he has a bad attitude" portion of the inquisition, but in case you still give any credibility to the third accuser...

I know we’re moving on to the “ok, he flagrantly lied about drinking and yearbook stuff, but he should still be believed about everything else because otherwise we can’t own the libs,” portion of the tribal meltdown, but why do you feel the need to also completely misrepresent non-conservatives as “moving on,” doubting the allegations of sexual assault that are currently under investigation?BurtReynolds wrote:I know we're moving on to the "ok, he didn't rape anybody, but he lied about drinking and he has a bad attitude" portion of the inquisition
