Creepy because of what the technology can do? I was pretty surprised how well that looked for a quick rendering via AI software (I believe that's what the person said he used)

All that really revealed to me is just how little Aldon SOUNDS like Harrison.

As an experiment, that was fun.

I agree. And I know it's a slippery slope and all of that... but I don't actually HATE the idea of stuff like this in the future depending on contracts and permission and all of that stuff. Again, it's a slippery slope. But you'd have to have a vocal recreation, too. Seeing Ford's face with Aldon's voice was SUPER jarring.

I think it worked well for Tarkin, even if I had friends who hated it.

Well, sure. That's a different thing, but, yes, I agree. I loved Tarkin.

I watched it the other night and everything with Tarkin is outstanding. Technical achievement but also performance and writing.
I don’t want this to be where we go using dead actors but I can see it happening. These actors now sign their likenesses away. Star Wars and Lucas invented that sadly.

Just hope it doesn’t happen soon

Ps whoever they got to voice Tarkin fuckin nailed it 100% tone and inflection and the slightly rolled R’s

Old wrinkly dudes are a lot easier to convert to CG, but I thought he still looked a bit like a caricature.

But they should give up on doing this.

Tarkin was an exception. During the production of rogue one, one of the crew had worked on one of Cushings last films and knew they’d taken a plaster cast of his face to create a mold to make a model for prosthetic fittings. They managed to track it down and laser scanned it to create the 3d model of his face. So in effect they had a serious leg up helping them make such an accurate model of his face.
