How do we, as a society, make the Saudia Arabia problem more well known? Is that up to the media? Our politicians? Grassroots? It makes me sick how closely aligned we are with them when they are such a big part of the problem.

If we can move back from rediscovering 9/11 for a moment, I think it’s worth keeping in mind as this unfolds that 90% of the response and cost happens behind the scenes. Everything being said in public is crafted by the speaker to further their preferred outcomes on THAT field.

We need to have real discussions about "Western" and Islamic ideas and make decisions as a society about what we will and will not allow.
The U.N. needs to take a hard-line with the Human Rights Council and nations need to cut off aid and relations with countries that don't meet certain minimums.
I know that in this fucked up time when "culture" matters more than basic human rights this sounds "conservative," but I don't give a fuck about your culture if it involves stripping rights, killing dissidents and generally destroying everything that's not in your narrow view.
