This movie’s is biggest problem is how noncommittal it is. Is it gory? Funny? Serious? Campy? Meta? Scary? I don’t know. It’s all and none of those things. It has no tone or identity. It winds up being nothing.

Why is there a Halloween franchise? It's the most boring concept on Earth.

Just sink this money into remaking Nightmare on Elm Street instead.

Just got back from seeing this. I enjoyed much of it, but I have to kinda agree with LV in that it doesn't seem to settle on a tone so it feels a bit empty.

However, this particular Michael Myers is loads of fun, and I loved how relentless he was. The way he just walks into people's homes so casually made me uneasy. It was done well, and the last 20 mins or so are great.

I still left wanting more, though. I don't know where I'd rank it, needs time to marinate.

1. Halloween (1978)
2. Halloween H20 (1998)
3. Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers (1995)
4. Halloween 2 (1981)
5. Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988)
6. Halloween 2 (Rob Zombie, 2009)
7. Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989)
8. Halloween: Resurrection (2002)
9. Halloween (Rob Zombie, 2007)

I imagine this new one might slot in at number 3, or maybe number 2 but I'll have to see it again.

Why do people not care for rob zombies remake? I loved it.

Saw this one. Meh. Last act is fantastic but the rest was average at best.

Unnecessary movie.

Also the worst movie going experience in a long time. Ugh. People suck
