Everything. Everything is wrong with them.

It’s fascinating how passionate people are about an issue that effects like 0.5% of the population. I can’t imagine what we could accomplish if childhood poverty got that type of response.

This seems like a really shitty thought. Who cares if it’s a small part of the population? When government policies are being designed to deliberately erase those persons’ identities, I’d say that’s a pretty huge deal worth caring about.

You should try to understand first. A society that works broadly against suffering is more capable of supporting its most vulnerable sections, no matter how small, by establishing a culture of respect and caring. It can see the forest for the trees and act accordingly.

What is so disappointing is that everything he says and does, true or false, has nothing to do with his conception of what is right and wrong, but what plays best to his base of supporters. It’s why he can say during a campaign at the start that he would support LGBT rights then immediately go back on it once his calculus changes on what his supporters will like or dislike. Humanity and doing the right thing never play into his decision making or advocacy. He just wants to feed the mob because that is what he believes wins elections.
