My biggest issue with Mass Effect on PC was that it didn't offer 1980x1024 screen resolution, but apparently that can be edited in the config file. I might have to give it another spin in light of this...

Ugh. It is so ugly. The grass is painted onto the ground most of the time. And hands are blocks. etc etc
......it’s an N64 game

Which has aged very poorly. It's an awkward stage for 3-D games.

The only Gamecube game I still own is the Majora’s Mask/Ocarina of Time double pack.

My Gamecube broke over a decade ago.

This is a terrible opinion

It's awesome that you kept the game.

Okay if I really need to defend my SOTC PS4 pick I will after work.

Jorge said it’s actually my turn again, so I’m gonna go with Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 - PS2, 2001 because he already took THPS2.

Got about 4 hours in and wasn't feeling it. This was after ME2 had come out, which I had played the demo of. All I could think about was how much better ME2 looked and felt.

Ohhhhh mannnnn you gotta try again. You’re missing out. I play through the full trilogy at least once per year.

I really loved this game. Can't seem to get into newer games in the style though (I still haven't made it past the first 6 hours of Mass Effect).
Just skip to Mass Effect 2.
FUCK OFF AND DIE
Seriously, this is like telling people to just skip to The Godfather: Part II or The Two Towers or The Empire Strikes Back.
I just want him to play it so he can vote for my team.

I don't even know what Mass Effect is. Not even interested enough to google it.

Do you feel the same about other old technologies? Like the original television models? Cause it's basically the same concept.
Games are more than just tech. A more apt comparison would be to music or movies, in which case my answer would be yes. It’s art created under the technological constraints of its time.
This is absolutely correct.

Super Mario 64's worlds look empty and blocky now but they were a revelation at the time. Very few pieces of art gave me the same amount of joy as running around as Mario in a 3D plane for the first time.

This game is actually very bad. Have you played it recently?

I agree that AT THE TIME it was amazing. But it hasn't aged well. I'd play Mario Odyssey over Mario 64 every time. But I'd play Mario 3 over Mario Odyssey at least half the time.

The SNES version in particular is widely viewed as an inferior version.
