For my main playthrough I went with commando - I just love turrets.
Me too. But weren't the drones in BL2, not the turret? Or am I thinking of the presequel?

Should I go with my heart or with a more widely played game?

Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem (GameCube)

One of the most underrated video game titles of the last 20 years. While on the surface it was "just" a survival horror title, the sanity effects and rune spell casting were perfectly done and added so much to the title.

Still shocked by the number of people who never played it.

Subnautica (PC)

I was considering Ultima: Underworld, but Subnautica is amazing, and I can't get enough of it.

I played it this year for the first time.

I played it. Very difficult/weird game. Was hard to get into but I remember it being effective. I don't think I ever beat it... probably for similar reasons I never beat Bloodbourne.

It's dark and depressing throughout.

It is a game that would benefit greatly from a remake.

Nah. It would get bashed in this day and age. The same 3 levels over and over with some modifications - mansion, underground tombs, church.

A lot of room for creativity there. Kind of similar to how GOW PS4 has similar world layouts, they could change design drastically and make it awesome.

I loved how in-depth and varied the insanity effects were.

Some were just cut scenes, some were playable, some extended to inventory screen. They even had a BSOD.

Also, big surprise CT is bashing one of my picks.

No, i'm not. I don't love it, but I'm not bashing it.

Also, the insanity effect of TV failure looked nearly identical to my actual TV input screens.
