We just today re elected our President for another 7 years. His second term. He’s a poet and a statesman and a fierce sense of social justice in the true sense has always been his thing.
I post this here cos I thought we were immune from the pathetic rise of the far right bullshit. But an Irish businessman none of us ever heard of called Peter Casey, who lives in America, came home, somehow secured a nomination to run(as did 5 other candidates) and he totally played the Trump playbook, being racist, non taxpaying himself but attacking our native travelling community (our equivalent of native Americans and the poorest most excluded in our society ) and he made headlines for the all wrong reasons. And he came second with 21% of the vote. Somehow.
This is worrying.
