This game is definitely a slow burn, but god damn is it beautiful. I just got to Chapter 2, which I'm pretty sure is where it opens up and you can do whatever the hell you want.

Only got to play about 45 minutes last night. Hope to play more tonight after I get these damn tournament matchups up.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
it will take some time to process this game. A lot to take in. Rockstar pushed the envelope on what open world means. Not what I was expecting and that's fantastic.
Impressed by the writing and the story line. No heroes. At least so far.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
I just started Chapter 2 as well. A reminder to everyone to cover up any spoilers! Some of us play through a lot slower than other, pretty much every review had indicated that the story missions alone could take you up to 60 hours to complete. Definitely starts out slow, first chapter is basically a big tutorial. Absolutely as beautiful as the reviews say, the score and sound effects are equally impressive, so glad I got a sub for my soundbar prior to playing this. I'm easily falling in love with this one quickly as I did with the first game, despite a few (still present) gameplay annoyances.

It’s certainly overwhelming how much there is to do. The map is enormous. First game that has made me wish I had an XB1X.

I bumped into a lawman and ended up getting into a huge shootout and a $45 bounty on my head.
Taking Charles out for drinks after Micah shows his ass and gets arrested was hilarious and super dark.
Not sure if I want to bother busting Micah out of jail. The guy is kind of a prick.

Last night I accidentally stole some food from a camp near Valentine. There was a witness. I chased down said witness, lassoed and hogtied him, then set him in his campfire where he promptly burned to death. Another person saw it, but got away. I was then overwhelmed by six lawmen.

The reports of how dense this game is actually dissuade me from buying it right now, because there's no way I'll have the time for it. Hoping to get it for $30 in a year or so, can hopefully sink more time into it then.

Considering GTAV is still going for full price, I’m not sure this game will ever be discounted that much, especially since online will get added here soon.Simple Torture wrote:The reports of how dense this game is actually dissuade me from buying it right now, because there's no way I'll have the time for it. This is the type of stuff that is keeping me on the straight and narrow. I know we’re supposed to be outlaws but it doesn’t take much to get a bounty on your head.Monkey_Driven wrote:Last night I accidentally stole some food from a camp near Valentine. I didn't even mean to take it! I pressed the wrong button. Oops.scrub12 wrote:This is the type of stuff that is keeping me on the straight and narrow. I accidentally choked a woman last night. Went to pick her up because her horse died, and hit the button to get on my horse, but apparently I wasn’t close enough, and that’s the same button to choke someone...Monkey_Driven wrote:I didn't even mean to take it! Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
I got GTAV for the PS3 for $30 plus a gazillion online bucks (never used them, don't play online) in 2014 sometime, probably a year and a half after it got released. Just gotta wait for an online sale, it'll happen.scrub12 wrote:Considering GTAV is still going for full price, I’m not sure this game will ever be discounted that much, especially since online will get added here soon.Simple Torture wrote:The reports of how dense this game is actually dissuade me from buying it right now, because there's no way I'll have the time for it.
