I understand that the PS2 was kinda THE SYSTEM at the time, but I felt like it had the same glut of shitty games the PS1 had.

Oh for sure. The highest selling systems always do. Look at the Wii's huge pile or shovelware too.

ive owned an atari 2600 (sears telegames), vic 20, colecovision, nintendo sega, xbox one
had friends that owned, atari 5200, adam computer (colecovisions computer), intellivision, super nintendo, and playstation

i would say the hype and excitement that you see in todays games was equaled by the atari 2600's release of pacman

you had to sign up at your local store (Hills or Kmart) to be put on a waiting list and ive remember some people were on there for 2-3 months

for this

i think colecovision was the first 16 bit graphic system and as lame as it was, smurf and zaxxon were probably my favorites

right now i just play xbox one and its usually fable 3 or spiderman 2 or iron man

PC doesn't count.

PS1 is the correct answer.

Those were probably my two favorites on coleco as well. And Carnival, of course.

Commodore 64 —-> NES
Sega Megadrive ——> SNES
PS1 ——-> N64

Nintendo have always been a great option, but never the best machine/option on the market. I’ve owned several of them (incl Switch) as my second machine.

Difficult to say that one machine has been the best ever. Compared to its time, and the options it gave, probably the Commodore 64. The Megadrive/Genesis was also a massive step forward.

Yeah isn't 16-bit the SNES/Genesis generation of consoles?

Colecovision was 8 bit.

I loved mine. Had the steering wheel and pedal too. Good times with that system until I saved up and bought a Sega Mastersystem.

Mildly interesting fact: The NES was never officially released in South Africa, so technically I've never played on it, despite the hours I sunk onto something we knew as "Golden China".

I had a friend with a Coleco and the expansion that let you play 2600 games.

It was pretty bad ass.

It would probably come down to the NES, PS2, and 360 (I know it's not listed) for me. I would probably lean towards PS2 in the end.

The lack of Colecovision in the poll is a travesty.
