Do you have a mechanism by which you would suggest that we disenfranchise such voters? I suggest that property ownership requirements would work, even if it would take a generation or two to correct itself.

they will self-select themselves out of relevance eventually via opioids / lack of healthcare bankruptcy during the upcoming recession / accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound

Bringing it all back home.

2010: 34,148
2014: 23,554
2016: 57,159
2018: 50,000 and counting
That last number has been amended, but here’s the details:

It's getting serious now.

Martha McSally to sing National Anthem, Kyrsten Sinema to conduct pre-game coin toss at ASU-Utah game

Some additional thoughts on Nevada:

In 2016, based on a traditional presidential election turnout model, democrats felt that their early voting firewall of 40,000 (earned in places like Clark) meant they had likely won the state. They were right. They won it by around 26,000 votes (rural, red counties being slightly more traditional Election Day voters).

Turnout this year, as massive as it is, should still fall short of presidential levels. After all, early voting numbers are down by six figures compared to 2016. This means the firewall for a Democrat victory scenario should also be somewhat less...maybe 34,000?

They’re at 47,000. That gap is massive. Possibly evidence of a bloodbath.

As a life lifelong Georgian I can tell you that "cotton picking" is a southern expression to be used in place of saltier curse (or cuss) words. To make this into a racial issue is the exact overly PC crap that does not help the progressive cause. It makes that it seem some people are just looking to be offended and an example of whiny snowflake shit that makes liberals look like crybabies.

I agree, except that “not understanding local slang,” is not a PC issue. It’s a not understanding issue.

I also think that the repeated use is a weaponization of misplaced outsider offense. They probably hope (I assume correctly) that most locals have used the phrase at some point, and will interpret outsider racism accusations as a personal attack.

I’m not offended by the term, but really, how does it keep happening that Republican candidates keep using terms with obvious racial or cultural doh whistles and keep complaining about being called out on them?

I keep thinking that they use the terms to seem more natural but they just don’t stop to think that the language is potentially offensive (or it’s an effort to say something potentially offensive so they can hammer at the PC world).

And who really uses that phrase in the modern age? Is it those young raggamuffin whippersnappers?

Don’t kid yourself it goes way beyond that. This is the permanent state of being at least through 2020, and if the political culture isn’t changed after that, we could be looking at 2024 before this massive amount of stress calms.

All political ideologies aside, the ratcheted tension will exist so long as Trump is president because his entire enterprise is built upon sowing division, fear, and anxiety as political tools to keep his base motivated.

It exists not only because Trump is president but because we agree to play by his rules.
