Voted absentee at the County Clerk's office because we are out of town until Wednesday. There were over 7,000 votes cast already. Around 1,000 more at the time of the 2016 election.

This is pretty much my attitude right now. Each election cycle just keeps getting worse and worse. I'll still vote at 10 AM on the dot tomorrow at my wonderful polling station, and then watch the results come in at night, but I'm ready for this to be over.

The ultimate tapout moment came last weekend when I saw ads advocating for people not to vote for people, but to vote Democratic or Republican. I knew such ads would be inevitable given where electioneering has gone in recent years, but it was still jarring to actually see.

I heard someone say that the difference between the Republicans and the Democrats can be boiled down to their base voting message: The Democrats say "get out and vote" whereas the Republicans say "go vote for these people".

I was referring to the organization behind them that set up speaking engagements, etc. Maybe they just aren't getting as much coverage as they used to.

The only ad I've seen in Florida referencing Parkland is a Rick Scott ad featuring a father of a victim praising him for signing legislation after the shooting and not caring about the politics of it. Haven't seen/heard anything from the students in quite awhile.

Right on. MT's population is one of the oldest in the country, i think the mean age is like 53? My hunch is that ID is similar, and the writing is on the wall.

The LDS population in eastern Idaho actually skews it as one of the youngest. I imagine the variance in age is high, though. Rural ID is likely closer to MT, while Boise is probably comparable to most other top 100 metros in the West.

Um...isn't WA a mail-in state? I mean I haven't actually gone anywhere to vote since 08 I think.

Election day is Tuesday, November 6. Washington mails a ballot to every registered voter a few weeks before the election. Keep an eye on the mailbox, and be sure to mail it back or drop it in a drop-box before Election Day! You can also vote in person if you prefer to do so. Washington offers early voting.
