Watched the first episode of Silicon Valley. There's a point where this show gets funny - because I've heard people talk about it and laugh at the same time - but I don't know when it happens. Is it like Parks & Rec where it takes a season?

Steve Albini wrote:Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Probably A) contracts expiration and B) they don't have any of those shows done. Hell, they've barely started filming them.

I’m about halfway thru the first part of The Zen Diaries of Garry Shandling. Pretty cool stuff.
Apparently, Shandling was buds with Joe’s favorite comedian, Dave Coulier, back in the Comedy Store days.

He also became tight with Saget and they remained close until he died.durdencommatyler wrote:Cut it outwease wrote:I’m about halfway thru the first part of The Zen Diaries of Garry Shandling. Pretty cool stuff.

Re: What are you currently watching on TV?
After listening to the Ted Danson episode of the Armchair Expert podcast I had to watch the pilot as they discussed how 'perfect' the episode is. I have to agree, it was masterfully done. Maybe it's because of the serial nature of TV now but it's just nice to basically know what you're getting into right from the jump.
