Weird how all those Jordan Peterson videos couldn’t explain what subjectivity is

For you to say this isn't subjective and that your opinion is right says otherwise, dude. And if you can't see that, well, you're even dumber than I thoughttree_ wrote:Uhmm... no. My IQ is actually pretty high.

That doesn't stop sports radio from offering similar "takes".LoathedVermin72 wrote:No it’s not. It’s an objectively incorrect assertion.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
I've gone into a general store like twice in the 30 hours I've put in because you can just loot everyone for what you need. And the general store really isn't that bad. It takes place in 1899, what would you expect?
Game is incredible. I'm usually bored by open world games if I've put this many hours into the game, but not with this one. Just hunted the legendary moose.

I tried on clothes in the general store for 15 minutes last night. Or you can skip it entirely. Making each small diversion like this enjoyable is the key to making an open world game. The poker is also a lot of fun.

I'm in total agreement with you--as I've said before I would not have appreciated this game years ago (e.g., if the first RDR had this level of realism 8 years ago I'd have probably never finished it). There are options to expedite certain 'slower' parts of the game, but to me it all adds to the immersion. I do, however, still get pissed with the duck and cover game play--I can live with it but feels like it still could have used more polish. Also hoping they can fix a good number of the 'juttery' object bugs in the next patch--have been noticing more than I'd care to see which also takes away from the immersion aspect.

This. Never thought I'd say it but I spent like 20 mins just trying on different outfits, 5 of those just looking at fucking spurs. All entirely unnecessary but all the better because I have the option....Monkey_Driven wrote:I tried on clothes in the general store for 15 minutes last night. Or you can skip it entirely. Also played 5 finger fillet with Lenny for almost a half hour. Ended up screwing around so much that I didn't get to any of the story missions that I wanted to when I fired the game up.

If you have the time ... this kind of shit is really fun. Changing clothes in GTA IV was one of my favorite parts of the game. Or was it GTA V? The one in "New York" starring the Slavik guy.Revelator wrote:This. Never thought I'd say it but I spent like 20 mins just trying on different outfits, 5 of those just looking at fucking spurs. Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
In any other context the convoluted shopping system would be awful but it really does work with this game, probably because you don’t really spend much time doing it. Everything you need is readily found in the game world save for a handful of quest items. I’ve been in a store to buy something maybe 4 times. I absolutely love the level of immersion in this game. I haven’t used fast travel once since I unlocked it. I’ve taken a train a couple of times which i guess is a form of fast travel. I’m trying to take my time and enjoy every little thing along the way.
I learned today though that there is a companion app that can be used to make the shipping experience less tedious. And it makes Arthur’s journal more usable as well. It also has a map that moves and updates in real time with your movements in the game which is handy, especially if you want to get rid of the HUD.

This game really clicked for me over the weekend. It's something special.
The visual style/landscapes are just gorgeous (even with the fake HDR).
