I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that the elections will probably still go to DeSantis and Scott and yet he's still foaming at the mouth about this. I imagine he either doesn't understand that they're in the pole positions--something that's realistically possible, of course--or that, as you intimated about, he just always needs to be in control of the narrative and is prepping his, "See, I told you!" tweet after the races are finally called for the GOP.

This is probably it. I think most would agree that taking more than a week to get through counting votes cold be improved upon. Sounds like the solution is to increase the number of polling places, modernize voting technologies, make it easier to register, come up with simpler ways to verify mail-in ballots, increase the visibility and stature of community organizations that help people get to the polls...I am suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

They're all correct, but of all the nonsense Trump has instigated, I think this one has the best chance of playing out organically in the favor of democracy. The Dems will likely start drafting some sort of legislation that will ensure our elections are more secure in the future, or at least they will if they know what the hell they're doing. And either the legislation will pass, or it will be incredibly easy to spin its defeat as the GOP trying to undermine our election security. Pretty tough for them to fumble this one, actually. Which, you know, doesn't mean it's impossible...
