Odd question for you

Our ma told a story on a national tv talkshow here about 10 years ago. About bunking in to the a venue to see the Beatles only ever Dublin show in 1963.

Now it’s been made into a play but they never approached her or asked anyone about any of it or permission to even go ahead.
They took the premise from the interview clip and ran with it.

Let it go or get annoyed or what?
Wait, like this is explicitly based on their experience? Do they actually use names? Or is it just kind of loosely “inspired by” in an indirect way?

They took it directly from this story here didn’t ask and used her name and Glens name in the press release sent out to papers and radio stations (I’m the Handsome one sitting beside her haha)

Jesus Christ you’re good looking. My god
I’m an insufferable cunt tho :)

So I got in touch with the organiser and sent him a what the actual fuck email and he responded all apologies and said he got her permission...7 years ago...she has no memory
Of even meeting the guy and isn’t best pleased but she’s sick right now and doesn’t want to make it a thing so we’re letting it go.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

LV I heard today that the first 8k TVs are coming next year.

Will you be upgrading? Does that mean buying all your favourite movies again?

8k? Shit...

Hey, LV, what's the top of technology? Is there a point where it literally just cannot get better?

I’m sorta surprised 3D tv didn’t take off. I think if it had we’d see that tech evolve and progress and we’d get total immersion tv or holograms n stuff.

Here’s me sitting here with a shitty lcd tv and DVD player

I thought DVD into a tube TV was the apex. They keep coming up with new shit for me to buy.

Right?

Or not buy, in my case. I've missed all the HD/4K stuff. Maybe I'll jump onto this 8K train and ride that out for the next two decades.

I haven’t seen 8K yet, so who knows if I’ll change my tune once I do, but right now I am very skeptical that it will ever become a major consumer format. I’m not convinced there’s going to be much, if any, appreciable detail gain between 4K and 8K. On top of that, the amount of meaningful content available in 8K (or even capable of ever delivering 8K worth of detail) is next to nothing.

3D has always been a cyclical thing. It’s been around for a very long time, and its nature seems to be that it comes and goes. People get excited about it for a while, then it fades away again. It will probably come back into style after Avatar 2 comes out, especially if Cameron delivers on his quest for glasses-free 3D.
