Like a complete power down? Hold the home button for several seconds on a controller and it will completely turn off. Not sure it can charge in the dock when it is completely turned off or not.

Ah, so it can't charge when it's completely off, like a phone can?

I'm not sure, honestly. I don't think I've ever tried.

I know it's cheesy, but I got this to hold my Switch games and I adore it.

My daughter's a bit too young (4) to play a game by herself yet, but the last couple nights we've been playing Mario Odyssey with me on the left joy con (running and butt stomping) and her on the right (jumping and hat throwing). Super fun. Almost made it through the first world playing this way.

I think I'm too old and dumb for Zelda. I kept freezing to death so I put it away for a while. And weapons constantly breaking fucking SUCKS. Whose bright idea was that?

Keep playing Zelda. This one really changes up the formula.

Hints for freezing:
Spoiler: show
Find some peppers and eat them while you are cold. Also, you can light a stick on fire to warm you as well. Breaking weapons is a way to scale the difficulty since the world is completely open. It is frustrating at first, but becomes a really smart design choice as you explore and gain more weapons.

Scavenging for peppers and sticks to light on fire does not sound like my idea of a good time, but I will give it another try.

You shouldn't have to scavenge too much. The basic enemies carry sticks. It seems tedious at first, but you get enough stuff pretty quickly to survive pretty easily out in Hyrule.

Just find the proper suit to protect you from cold. That's part of the challenge!

lol. You ever spend like 15 minutes just running away from a guardian's view? I have a few times then think to myself "what the fuck am I doing here!?"

You have to to get to one shrine where you go through a whole temple of them. Not sure if you've found that one or not.

I haven't even successfully beaten a Major Test of Strength yet.

Nope. I started the one shooting water but decided to move on the shrines until I got the Master Sword.
