I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

I don’t remember if we’ve been over this, but have you seen the original True Grit?

HELL YES, I love the original a lot. I can never decide if Kim Darby or Hailee Steinfeld were better in the role. They’re both so good!tragabigzanda wrote:i have not, is it worth it?LoathedVermin72 wrote:I don’t remember if we’ve been over this, but have you seen the original True Grit?

They are very different in tone and look. I think the Coen one has fewer interesting themes going on, and a generally less appealing cast.tragabigzanda wrote:then why don't you like the 2010 film?
That said, the dialogue taken from the book is terrific in both. I just really don’t have any use for the remake.

Holy shit I had no idea the amputee from Scruggs was the same guy who played Dudley in the Harry Potter movies. I didn’t recognize him at all.
