What movies are you watching?

Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Yeah, if nothing else from the movie stuck with me that one part certainly did.

Just finished Jurassic World FK. Seemed to be the same as the others - which I almost think was kind of the point, maybe? - but the bit about letting the cat out of the bag finally seemed to have a point. Almost excited for JW3, but then I remember that Colin is working on it.

I rewatched Fantastic Beasts yesterday, and I'm so glad I did. That movie works so much better than I'd remembered and it really helps frame the action of The Crimes of Grindelwald.

We then re-watched Baby Mama. I've seen it several times and it shouldn't be as fun as it is, for me. It's not a great movie but it still makes me laugh and I wonder how bad it would have been without Fey and Poehler. Like, if it had been Julia Roberts and Gwyneth Paltrow or something. Yuck.

We ended our movie marathon with The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, which I liked but ultimately didn't love. But I've already written enough about that.

Yesterday was a good day.

BlacKkKlansman.

well it was alright...Its a messy film, it looks pretty good and of course Lee knows how to frame things...but it seems this version is a little too Hollywood than the real story.
Anyway, it was ok.

This was really great. Tense, creepy, unique. Dylan McDermott was fantastic.

Watched "Ralph Breaks the Internet" this weekend. Really fun movie with a strange thematic turn for the third act. I don't know why I reacted so strongly to the Princess scenes but there was a lot of emotion for me. Pretty weird.

I heard that there was a trailer for Frozen 2 at the end of the credits so I figured we'd stay and watch to troll my son because of how much he dislikes that movie. While waiting through the credits the song credits were going and "Never Going to Give You Up" performed by John C. Reilly was there and I thought to myself, "When did the play that? Weird. I must have missed it in the youtube videos he was doing." So then the big Frozen 2 logo came up and my son leaned over asking me what the heck this was and suddenly the opening to the song started and he asked me again what the heck this was but all I could do was laugh. Such an appropriate way to end a movie about the Internet.

And the secret to raising kids right was a great little scene. Also I laughed that Alan Tudyk was in the movie considering his role in the last one. Not a funny ha-ha but just the same.

This was really great. Tense, creepy, unique. Dylan McDermott was fantastic.

He was good yeah. The kid was also good. I was surprised on how old Samantha Mathis looked.

Felt nostalgic the other night. The wife and I watched Empire Records and Can't Hardly Wait. Had blast revisiting both of them, but I'll tell you what... Empire Records REALLY holds up. That's a great goddamn movie that I'd recommend to anyone, even someone who wasn't old enough to see it when it first came out.

Saw it on HBO when i was 11 years old the night before i had my last trip with my then friends from school. Saw that one and then Pulp Fiction, both of them on HBO. I was so fucking blown away by them....Liv Tyler was and remains the love of my life, but the whole cast was amazing...Anthony La Paglia, Rory Cochrane, Rene Zellweger, even that Cuervo Jones guy.

Got the soundtrack too.

I've always loved the movie. But I haven't revisited the thing in a decade+. Wasn't sure if it was just time/place and overall nostalgia that made me so found of the film Turns out... nope! The fucking thing is just great!
