On weeknights when I do have a chance to play I usually only have time for some quick hunting or something random....last night, I went the far West part of the Grizzlies to nab the wild white Arabian Horse. I've really fallen in love with this game and my venture to grab this horse fortified that. On my trek from Horseshoe to Lake Isabella (where the white Arabian resides), I was accosted by some O'Driscoll's, ran into a dude crying for help only to find it was a set up (so I killed them all via Dead Eye), found a man in the Dakota River doing some form of seance, had a scuffle with a pack of wolves while trying to tame my new horse, and got caught in a massive blizzard in the middle of the night on my way back down the mountains, with more wolves and wildlife bellowing all around me (on surround sound speakers).

If I were to make that same trek again, the entire endeavor could be uneventful....or I could run into something even more terrifying. That distinct feeling of uncertainty as you travel through the wild is quickly becoming one of my favorite aspects of this game--you kind of got that feeling from the first RDR, but it's like x100 in this one. I find my thinking about this game A LOT now when I'm not playing and that's truly the mark of a 'special' game.
Is the horse worth it?
Pay attention MD.

Life’s a journey, not a destination.
Yeah I'd say so--I got the War Horse (Ardennes) as part of the pre order. That horse can take a shit ton of damage but is on the slow side. The white Arabian's health stats are not the best, but it's fast as shit with strong stamina to boot. You can improve the health and stamina a bit after you increase bondage and miles traveled. There's evidently another Arabian horse you can buy later in the game that has the best stats of any other horse, but you can't buy it till Chapter 5ish and it costs like $1.6K

Closest thing I've seen thus far that's close to a sale is a $10 gift card for an XBox game or console if you buy RDR2 new (at standard price). I think that was through Walmart.

I started out dishonorable and have steadily switched to honorable. Not to spoil anything but as the game progressed it just felt like the right move.

Doing about the same myself, but going through the main story as honorable as I can. Turned autosave off though in case I want be an asshole from time to time but not disrupt the 'honorable' progression through the story

I may just chip away at this for the next several months. Love just riding around in the wild after a long day of work.

I'm finally starting chapter 3 this weekend, haven't really explored the map outside of where the story has taken me, was letting the game kind of roll everything out slowly for me.

That's one game I haven't played yet (haven't tried my hand at the Blackjack yet either). The poker is a lot more addicting than I remember the first RDR being

Red Dead Online beta starts tomorrow for players who bought the Ultimate edition, remainder of users can access the beta by the end of the week. I'm probably not messing with the multiplayer component till I get done with the main story, which at this point will probably be several months from now...

The last 2 levels took forever. I must have taken 10 bottles of tonic over several in-game weeks with no change. But then there's a point late in chapter 5/early chapter 6 where some in-game time elapses, and then it just seemed to pop in all at once.

Oh you're well ahead of me. I didn't start pumping the tonic until Chapter 5. I made a mistake early on and cut my beard thinking it was like GTA where i could just pick a haircut from a menu without having to grow it first :gomez:
