Oh, yeah I know what you mean, the second half of the intro. The first half has Matt hitting the snare on the first beat of the bar, and then he switches to a typical one.

That's the one.
I've said it before but I wonder if there's an earlier version of the song where he did the whole song in that timing? That'd be interesting.

I know I'm not the biggest fan of live jams, but I hope that in 5 years there's a live version of this where Matt takes the intro and goes crazy with it somewhere in the middle of the song.

That sounds like a pointless edit.
There's the dog. You can't fake that stuff. Confess with your mouth.

It makes it a few seconds shorter and much less interesting. Maybe they thought that including the few seconds of odd timing would make it too 'avant-garde'.

It'll take more time for me to say 'I love this song', but I'm certainly still enjoying it, I listen to it daily and I think that even if it's a 'punk throwaway', it's one of PJ's better ones.

Out of the 5 songs we have heard recently, the only one i would put above it is CC, and i know CC and LIR most likely aren't gonna be on the album, but its still new music to us. Id rank them all on the small number of listens so far
Cold consession/confession
Mind your manners
Lightning bolt and let it ride are kinda tied
Future days

But i don't hate future days

I'm not good at rankings. I start trying and then give up.

Its easy for me with a small number of songs, but there are usually so many different reasons to like different pj songs that my feelings for which song is better can change daily

OK, here's an attempt.

Cold Confession / Let It Ride (it's hard to rank either of these higher than the other, because we got them together and I don't think one is noticeably better)
Mind Your Manners
Lightning Bolt
Future Days

I'm hoping that the soundcheck song is Sirens and that it's better than all of these.

1. Mind Your Manners (most excited I've been by a PJ single since I AM MINE, maybe NAIS; which is not to say I think it's as good/better than either of those, just saying)
2. Let It Ride
3. Cold Confession
4. Lightning Bolt (only listened once)
5. Future Days (only listened once)

LB and FD have grown on me quite a bit but I still hate that piano.
