I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

There’s a pub a few streets away from me and the board outside claims that they are Bourdains favourite pub in Dublin.

I have real difficulty believing that. I know he liked the real and often the basic. But the place is an outright dump

His favourite Dublin fish n chip shop(chipper) is also mine so he got that right. Not the pub though. Not. At. All. I think they’re spoofing
Here he is In that chipper. Roma II

Jaysis. He really did Dublin. I didn’t know any of this. The pub in question is mentioned. As are many others. All better than that dump. The gravediggers especially

In the Buenos Aires episode, when Anthony is visiting the therapist, he says "I can be feeling fine, and then I'll see one little thing, like I'll get a really bad hamburger at an airport, and it'll send me into a depressive spiral for days." My wife gave me a look then that cut straight to my core. I am becoming increasingly certain that my makeup is like Bourdain Lite.
