Breath of the Wild, Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart 8, this. Pretty elite bunch there.
Has Nintendo been releasing the same games on every console for the last 20 years?
Yes and they are all better than Halo 6, Gears of War 5, Assassin's Creed 45, Call to Duty 23, etc.

Nintendo doesn't over-release their franchises either. Just one, maybe two, games per franchise per console cycle prevents overexposure.

Yup, not to mention each release usually has some sort of new gameplay element unique to that game or new to the series.

Truly looks like the ultimate version of the series. Excited for it to come in the mail tomorrow.

I pre-ordered it and it's downloaded to my Switch. Will it be playable at midnight tonight?

you may have to do another small update download at that time, but yeah, should be good to go.

An old trick my dad used to do...

1. Purchase said game on release day to play himself.
2. Purchase shrink wrapped game on release day and don't play.
3. Wrap shrink wrapped game and put it under the tree.
4. Have child open said shrink wrapped game.
5. Subtly replace opened game with shrink wrapped game during the opening of presents or later before the kids could open the shrink wrapped game.
6. Return shrink wrapped game.

I didn't really catch onto his ways until I was in late elementary school.

I'm not sure what you were expecting. This is the definitive game in the series.

I'm not sure either. Like I said, I've never owned or played much any of these games before. It just feels kinda shallow/bland.

That might be the first time I've ever heard the series described as shallow or bland.
