One more angle on this: Is there any kind of product that would let me plug an audio/video out device into the main TV, and it wirelessly transmits the signal to another device plugged in to the audio/video in on the patio TV?
i think it's doable with things like this...

https://www.amazon.com/J-Tech-Digital-W ... 071VCK1FG/

https://techforluddites.com/wireless-cable-tv/

The caveat being that you have to watch the same channel on both tvs at the same time. I don't know if you have to have both tvs powered on at the same time, though.

How exactly does Roku work together with a Comcast X1 box?

Anyone here use a relative/friend's Fios account info in order to log into Apple TV?

I recently heard of a family friend who let their daughter (who lives elsewhere) use their Fios login info on Apple TV so she could watch a fair amount of TV on Apple TV for free and then not have to pay for cable herself.

but Verizon found out apparently some how and now cancelled the parents' Fios and told them they can't have it again because it is considered 'theft of service'?

Anyone else heard of this happening?

A bunch of channels showed up on Vue today. Looks like a bunch of Viacom channels. Nick, MTV, Comedy Central...I guess they worked things out?

Well the channels are on the guide but they don't work. I can't find anything on Google saying those channels are back....I wonder if its an old channel grid that got loaded by mistake.

I just swapped out the Chrome stick for a Roku. I thought all steaming devices were created equally, but not anymore.

I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

I've never used Vue on anything other than a PS device. How does it differ?

It used to be fine on Roku. Was great for over a year. Now it doesn't want to start up. If it does its super slow to change channels or it just crashes when you try. My guess there was an update that Roku can't handle. All the other apps on the Roku are fine and no issues with Vue on my Playstations. So its gotta be Roku and Vue.

Seriously considering this now. Our Fios bill has ballooned to $230 per month (!!!). It was something like $79 when we started.

We did the math, and we can triple our internet speed, do YouTube TV, and Netflix for $100 per month. Thinking about adding Hulu and HBO for $25 on top of that. We already have a bunch of devices that stream, but not one on which every app will work (YouTube TV won't work on the Fire Stick or my PS4, Prime Video won't work on the Chromecast), so we would probably get at least a Roku.

there are a ton of alternatives out there. only downside is that it's still the wild west, so everyone and their mother wants to make a streaming service with their own special content. If you're not careful and join too many, it will be more than a normal cable bill :haha:

but getting the basics, like you mentioned, is pretty cheap. also, get a basic flat leaf antenna (or traditional rabbit ears). if you're able to pick up signals, you'll get all the major networks plus a few more. Roku is the best device IMO. it's not tied down to specific ecospheres that are at war with one another. it doesn't have Apple stores, but who gives a shit.

i've kind of been curious about streaming live TV through Sling. any reviews out there from the RM cord cutters?
