This is one of my favourite books so I decided to look it up given Nick Noltes casting in the Mandalorian..so far he seems to be just playing himself but it’s bang on to the book so far.

*i loved this. It had the fun and spirit of the book and Nolte is brilliant but Redford is too aloof and sneering-(that was their dynamic in the book but Bryson is likeable whereas Redfords Bryson really isn’t.)

It’s charming and easy going. Worth a watch.

100% there with you. It was the first book I read that made me cry from laughing. The movie just made me cry. I'm shocked Bryson was OK with it...unless he wants people to think he looks like Redford?

Probably haha. I don’t think bill has those kind of notions though . Redford doesn’t in any way come across like Bill in the book. Not one bit. But I took the positive from it in that it made Nolte all the more likeable and relatable as Katz. He stole the show in this I was delighted to see that.

Based on the trailers, I was expecting Deadpool 1 to be an obnoxious disaster. So I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was fine and occasionally charming. I expected Deadpool 2 to be similarly fine and occasionally charming, and it was. You made the right choice not beating that child.

To be honest I was worried about Nolte because Katz is supposed to be loveable and Nolte really isn't usually. So that was a surprise.

Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

I am genuinely curious how much longer the superhero genre can dominate. Every year since around 2013 I've been thinking "ok, we've got to be reaching a tipping point now", but every year proves me wrong.
