It's an addiction for me.durdencommatyler wrote:verb_to_trust wrote:I've been going 6 days a week for a while now and my IT band had a mild flare up. I get what you're saying Joey, I've really enjoyed just being locked in and lost in my routine. We shouldn't be afraid to take a break if we need it. I know I need one, it's been about 9 months since ive been off.![]()

It's so difficult to pull back. Why is that?
I'd be dead in a ditch somewhere without running.
I can't lose it.

Switching into a fresh pair of Bostons. How do you add your shoe to Strava. I'd like to keep track of the miles on them but can't seem to find it on the app or mobile site. Is it a Summit thing? Because I don't fuck with Summit.

2018 Running Awards
Most consistent: Peeps
Best racing: guestT
Most improved: Mina (yes, she's a nonRMer but...)
Best motivator (Strava kudos and comments): Verb (thank you, friend)
Most total runs: guestT (228) Verb (216)
Most shit-talking: Dev
Most miles: Me, but guestT was a close second
Most thought-about: We love you, daft
Most potential: Verb (this is no slight to guestT, but if verb's HR and Cadence are accurate on Strava, he could easily be sub-3 marathoner)
Most desirable location: DCT (I love urban running), Strat in second
Most interesting newcomer: liebzz
Where are they now?: Reid
Most disappointing: Me (only one (bad) race, a still-lingering hammy injury and I lost like 5 KOMs that I have no real shot of ever getting back)
Feel free to add your own.

Re: The Running Thread
I'm really looking forward to next summer. I think I made massive strides this year and now I'm am working on my upper body more over the winter. I think this will prove to be a big help with my running. Don't get me wrong I still get a 7km in once a week but everything just turned to ice out here so things could get very challenging for the next little while.

Re: The Running Thread
you guys honestly are soft though. me and my buddy are planning on having a campfire tonight. life is what you make it, but you guys are too soft to make it into anything unless the conditions are perfect.

Re: The Running Thread
I'll admit that I'm pretty soft in the cold. Cold and dark is a non-starter for me.
But I question if Dev would able to run in the summer conditions I run in. 5 months of 100-degree temps isn't fun.

Re: The Running Thread
You'd be surprise how hot it get's up here in the summer. Manitoba is the second warmest place in Canada after the Okanagon valley in the summer. Basically my weather is extreme all year round. It settles at about 86 F in the summer. Of course, I prefer to run on cooler days. How hot will you run in?

Re: The Running Thread
I'll run in 110-plus degrees.
Just plan on adding 1:30 a mile to your running times.

It's an honor, RM Strava. Here's hopping for a repeat in 2019.

Re: The Running Thread
IT band is sore again after a 10k yesterday and 8 more today. Was hoping 2 days off would be enough.
