Interesting. I had no idea "bae" was an acronym. Of course, you've already proven you can't be trusted with this stuff, I'm going to need outside confirmation on this. The Argonaut wrote:idk, I feel like bae is a higher level. bae means 'before anyone else', so it's more serious than bf. your bff could beat your bf and thus your bf would not be your bae

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Re: HBO Television Show: True Detective
I just noticed today that the title of episode 1 of this season is "The Great War and Modern Memory." This is actually the title of a book that studied World War I and how its catastrophic nature established trauma as a dominant form of cultural production for the rest of the century. I read that book twice during graduate school, and have no doubt Pizzolatto came across it in his studies at some point, too. I think, based on the bits of the trailer I've seen, that these ideas are going to be a driving force behind the series.

Will watch the new season asap. My girlfriend is back from a month’s travel on Monday, and this is her favorite show.
