That is a weird photo.

Watched Crazy Rich Asians last night. Not a great movie, nor was it terrible. Somewhere in the middle. I guess I expected more crazy rich than just crazy.

I enjoyed parts of it, but it felt a lot like an ad for Singapore tourism.

Steve Albini wrote:Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Roma was good.
Its not a masterpiece, but i thought it was good. Looks beautiful, the black and white is superb and there are some very cool scenes there. Some others felt weird and tasteless.

But overall, a very cool cinematic experience...and ey! i got the book of the script for free.

Gone Girl.

This was my 4th rewatch i think...what an amazing, delightful, smart, polemic piece of art. It more important now than when it was made.
Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike are great, but the whole cast is amazing...Coon, Perry, Dickens, Fugit and Patrick Harris are all great.

I miss Fincher. I need him to direct something now.
