Im four stories away from finishing Pizzolatto´s book and in a few weeks this one is starting.

Its going to be a grim January for sure.

I just noticed today that the title of episode 1 of this season is "The Great War and Modern Memory." This is actually the title of a book that studied World War I and how its catastrophic nature established trauma as a dominant form of cultural production for the rest of the century. I read that book twice during graduate school, and have no doubt Pizzolatto came across it in his studies at some point, too. I think, based on the bits of the trailer I've seen, that these ideas are going to be a driving force behind the series.
