For a band that was heralded as being all for the fans - this is pretty shit. And my renewal just clocked over....

Some are on the road during tours and in the warehouse otherwise - some are in the warehouse all the time. The band has stated then need to "hit the road" to pay the bills. No 10 Club = less bills = less touring = quasi retirement.

Maybe they'll then have a half-assed fan club by Wonderful Union.
I've always disagreed with the philosophy of the Ten Club being a business that should turn a profit. It would be a lot better if they just let it lose money and used it as promotional.
This is exactly the kind of thinking that leads to firepole-less homes and regular seats at Chicago Cubs games.

Key word is was. At some point they realized the fan base was a cash cow and it all changed.

I bet they end up never sending the 2018 single.

My guess is that they will redo the whole 10C club, most likely they will outsource it to Livenation.

Like a couple artists already did. U2, Depeche Mode, Springsteen, Taylor Swift and more to follow...

Most will be digital content from now on. Maybe you can get a free 2CD bootleg with your analog subscription.

Will this move drastically reduce members? I like the idea that my chances of getting tickets to shows I want to go to just went way up.

I'm in it for the tix and the single was icing on the cake.

It's too bad, but not losing sleep over it.

When they come here all the tickets are via regular sale anyway. So that doesn’t really matter to a lot of people.

It's hard for me to blame Bierman / The Ten Club for the lack of the single. It's not like they can demand content out of the band. They can only remind them that it hasn't been done. I imagine a couple of the guys would be right on it, and a couple would either flake out on recording or have some stupid, metaphysical, I'm-such-a-pretentious-artist-with-such-complex-emotions-and-I-have-to-foster-a-very-personal-relationship-with-all-180,000-fan-club-members reason for not just recording a cover or cleaning up a demo for this thing.

And yes, I'm blaming Ed for the lack of the single. It's totally him wanting to not dilute his art my being too blase about the song that they put on a single.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

The irony is delicious, but I would probably prefer this to 10C. At least Live Nation will probably deliver on the things you already paid for.

Guys - wishful thinking on your parts but I’m sure the 10c is staying put. They’re just discontinuing the single. We will still over pay for the opportunity to buy shitty merch. Don’t you worry!

I don't really understand being in it for the tickets. Is it really that hard to get Pearl jam tickets? They don't even tour most of the country because they can't sell. Not to mention having 10c Tix means your are around other 10c members and my experience has always been that those people usually suck tremendously.

The way it was set up for the stadium shows, yes, it is hard to get tickets outside of 10C(for face value.)

I rejoined the 10C last year for ticket access.

I haven't been able to get general sale tickets since 2014, and even then I couldn't get them for the show I wanted (Moline) and had to settle for another one (St. Louis). I eventually got Moline tickets from Stubhub, and really enjoyed both shows, but the ticketing piece was a pain.

Their ticket prices are expensive as is, there is no way I could justify them if I had to factor in the additional cost of the 10C membership (which essentially gets you nothing else of value). Not for a band in the twilight of their career who I've already seen multiple times.

Isnt the 10C membership 20 bucks? You are paying alot more than 20 extra if you go through stubhub.

Do you get a show every year though? I went to Moline and was on the floor. I don't remember how much the ticket was but it wasn't crazy or anything. If I added up 5 years of ten club membership instead I probably came out ahead.
