Also, I probably should have started with the U2 one. But who cares about U2, you know.

I don’t care about U2 or REM but it might be favorite podcast anyway

Re: What podcasts are you listening to?
Without Fail is probably my favorite Gimlet podcast not named Reply All. Alex Blumberg's wheelhouse as a host is getting people to open up about their successes and failures, which is what was so addicting about his earlier podcast, Start Up. Without Fail takes that even further and teaches me about all sorts of companies and entrepreneurs I've maybe heard of or haven't.
That being said, I really didn't enjoy the recent episode with Ira Glass. I like radio, I like Alex, and I like Ira Glass, but that whole episode felt like one big gush fest between a protegee and his mentor.

R U Talkin' REM Re: Me? is the most addictive podcast I've heard since S1 of Serial. And I have no idea why. But I crave it. I want it all the time. It's affecting me in major ways. I've noticed shifts in my sense of humor and the way I speak. It's insane.
Scott Aukerman sure does love dicks, too. I hope that aspect remains nonaddictive.

Yeah it’s totally addictive. I’ve listened to every episode at least three times

Re: What podcasts are you listening to?
I'm absolutely going to re-listen once I've gotten through the whole thing. Well, I'll go back and do the U2 version first, but then I'll totally go back through the REM episodes. I also skipped the Chronic Town episode because I thought the pod was going to be something else and I've never heard Chronic Town, so that wasn't interesting to me. I'll have to go back and grab that one, too.LoathedVermin72 wrote:Yeah it’s totally addictive. I’ve listened to every episode at least three times
I just stared the David Wain episode today.

Re: What podcasts are you listening to?
I had to stop about 10 minutes in (Wain hasn't even appeared yet) because of work. But I'll get to the rest of it later today. I can't wait. I adore this show and I adore David Wain. I'd be disappointed if it didn't go bananas.LoathedVermin72 wrote:I love the Wain episode, it really goes off the rails

Since you just listened to the Automatic episode, I will mention that one of the funniest things I’ve ever heard is when Scott says, “‘Star Me Kitten’ aka ‘FUCK Me Kitten’,” and then laughs sarcastically and goes, “Whooooooaaaaa fuck!” It still makes me laugh just thinking about it.

Totally. I laughed like a moron on the train. And this was like 7am. I think people thought I was crazy or on drugs.LoathedVermin72 wrote:Since you just listened to the Automatic episode, I will mention that one of the funniest things I’ve ever heard is when Scott says, “‘Star Me Kitten’ aka ‘FUCK Me Kitten’,” and then laughs sarcastically and goes, “Whooooooaaaaa fuck!” It still makes me laugh just thinking about it.

I listen to it primarily at work and it takes a lot to stifle all that laughterdurdencommatyler wrote:Totally. I laughed like a moron on the train. And this was like 7am. Re: What podcasts are you listening to?
Interesting, I’m a huge REM fan & a big podcast listener. I hate this show. Just rings douchey & try-too-hard-stand-up-comedy for me. But I do get the angle, and to each their own. Glad others enjoy it, I’ll just put on Monster or Automatic for the millionth time & drift off in to late-30s oblivion.

I liked cinema sins but now they just sorta seem to hate everything. I’m out.

Re: What podcasts are you listening to?
I think the Fan Club Singles episode of RU Talking REM Re: Me? is my favorite one so far. The Scotts really shine in that one. I laughed out loud almost the entire time. All of the eps within the ep were gold, too.
