2018 50/50 Challenge - 50 Books & 50 Movies in One Year

That would be Goodreads and their stupid page system. There was a short story that I read but because it was on the Internet - instead of an actual printed page - it was one "page".

Also am I misreading it or are you counting individual issues of comic books as books?!

No, I only count collected graphic novels. I know someone who does that and always ends up with >400 'books' at the end of the year. Unless I missed one...Or are you wondering about the #'s in the titles?

IVe done tons of audiobooks this past year just for ease and time compatibility and it’s just not the same. Even when it’s done well.

Podcasts have taken over and ruined me in terms of the time I spend and how I engage. Reading has taken a major hit. I need to fix that.

I only slightly agree with you on the audiobook issue, and that's because it's easier to stop a book and think about a paragraph, or to re-read a particularly well-crafted sentence. Otherwise they're just as good.

And yes, podcasts have become the surplus of my entertainment. I have at least pared some down because the content/guests were becoming boring.

This is such a good book even though it's incredibly, incredibly sad (probably so good because it's such a downer). I woke my wife up while reading to show her the saddest passage in the book....see if you can guess which it is!

I don't do audiobooks and went with one graphic novel. But I don't have kids, and I have summers off. Those things feel like significant advantages. Even then, I had to put in a lot of work to get to 53 books.

This definitely speaks to my lack of knowledge with parenting because I never would have thought of the possibility that some of these books could be read with one's kids. I love this approach.
