way back when Iger announced the "course correction", he omitted Rian's name from the list of upcoming films. Considering his answers are rarely off the cuff, There might be something to this. But the tweet could be purely to do with TLJ's anniversary. I would be disappointed if they parted ways but I can see a scenario in which Disney/LFL did just that... very very quietly. Or perhaps he just doesn’t want to do it after the shitstorm he’s endured every single day since.

Well he’s finished production of his latest film. Well know by celebration if he’s still in or not.
Hopefully he’s going ahead. No blame to him if he bows out. It’s appalling the abuse he’s had all year and still getting everyday.

I think people over exaggerates whats going on in social media. If you are a star or a director...thats stuff is going to happen. Dont engage with that. Keep doing what you love and appreciate the incredible life it gave you. Its not really important.

That’s why I don’t think Disney / Lucasfilm will drop him. They care about shareholders and the bottom line. His film made 1.3 billion in theatres and was the biggest selling home release of 2018. Far more people loved that movie by orders of magnitude than a handful (and it is only a handful) of ranging hateful loons on twitter.
They’ve bowed to the alt right/geeks n gamers assholes three times this past year though. Or at least that crowd have taken it as victories by firing James Gunn firing and mostly the firing of chuck wendig. Which was actually marvel not Disney but these assholes conflate the two as chuck has been failing against them for a couple of years.

We're a victim of the internet culture. Everything at our fingertips and the constant want of news on a daily basis. I think it started with the rise of 24 hour news channels, and carried over to the internet.

There could be days that LFL and Rian don't talk about his trilogy. This is perfectly normal and how businesses operate. I could be working on a project at work and not have any new updates for days, so I wouldn't worry too much.

I'll admit I'm in the "check the SW news everyday to see if something has developed" boat. There just cannot be new SW news everyday.

I’m not sensitive at all it wouldn’t be a huge big deal if it didn’t go ahead. The real shame of it would be those assholes out there would claim it as a victory and so emboldened would only get worse and double down on the alt right hate shit they’re pushing.

That would be a huge disappointment for all of us. Saying that, much of the reason I want him to go ahead and do it is to give those same assholes a huge Fuck you and let them know they won’t win.
