Really enjoyable stuff. And it’s works better when it’s not forcing the funny. Got up to the episode with the huge ship with the hidden country in it. Just a brilliant idea. Super fun series.

Season 2 premiere last night. Really good, character driven episode. Jason Alexander was cool and Alara is one of the hottest things on TV.
Anybody remember what the Season 2 premiere of ST:TOS was about? Very interesting move by MacFarlane. Love this show.

Caught the premiere and enjoyed it. I like The Orville as the poor man's Star Trek. I think some of the stories they've had have been interesting, especially the controversy with the sex change of Bortus and his husband's child.

Hilarious at times. Pretty good even as a light drama.

So, the second episode is a holdover from Season one. What a weird episode. Bortus is a horny motherfucker.

Look forward to this season. Might have to be a pirate again, but I’ll check legal options first.

This surprises me. I expect this to be terrible but I’m a little curious now.McParadigm wrote:So into this

I don’t think it’s particularly funny most of the time, but it is good Star Trek.LoathedVermin72 wrote:This surprises me. I expect this to be terrible but I’m a little curious now.McParadigm wrote:So into this

I think it’s hilarious, but I agree that there are some episodes, that are more Star Trek than anything we have seen since TOS.McParadigm wrote:I don’t think it’s particularly funny most of the time, but it is good Star Trek.LoathedVermin72 wrote:This surprises me. I watched a few episodes and it wasn't bad but I have just too many damn TV shows and this one got lost.

Re: TV: The Orville (Fox)
It wins when it’s doing Star Trek and the humour is just an aside. Sprinkled lightly.
Overall it’s nailed this. It’s not family guy incest jokes every other line.
Thankfully.
The humour is carefully applied and sparingly

Watched the first two episodes last night and enjoyed them a lot. The comedy is really just an undercurrent; this is basically just Star Trek. They really nail the feel of TNG.

Better than TNG, more like TOS.

It’s clearly emulating the style of ‘90s Trek, especially in the editing and music. Braga being involved shows.Anders wrote:Better than TNG, more like TOS.
