I dunno. It needed what they gave it and the last one really felt like the original series. I liked that one probably best of the three

Re: Star Trek Awesomeness
they waited so long between movies it kinda killed their momentum.
There are a lot of weird rights issues, too. CBS and Paramount own different parts of it or something. It's probably screwed until they can work that out.
I think the Kelvin timeline is dead though.

Which makes no sense since it's all owned together.BurtReynolds wrote:they waited so long between movies it kinda killed their momentum.

Re: Star Trek Awesomeness
Beyond was great, but not particularly Star Trek. The other two I can happily forget.
Honestly, there’s no reason Star Trek needs to be a movie franchise, other than Star Wars and Close Encounters convinced executives there was money to be made. It needs the room to contemplate and follow characters that tv allows far more than it needs big budgets.
I mean they’ve only ever made like 2 1/2 good films.

Honestly not one of them is worth as much as the best tv eps.

Re: Star Trek Awesomeness
Beyond was the worst of the three by some margin. When they started with the rock musis as a weapon, that was really bad.

If the point of the wall was to keep the people who liked Into Darkness out of this country, I’d immediately change my tune and donate.
