Revenge Of The Sith is easily a better movie than Solo.

They both have infuriating plot elements, but at least Solo has good acting pretty much across the board. Evan Ewan McGregor isn't 'good' in any of the prequels. He just looks amazing compared to the shit he is standing next to (and because he's a good actor it's fun to imagine how he would do with better direction). The only really fun thing about Sith is the Palpetine chewing scenery.

Putting TLJ first is a minor crime. Much worse than any of the acting in ROTS.

I think post IX you’re gonna see TLJ top a lot of lists. But I’m ready for IX to be the best of them all. It won’t be. It has an impossible mountain to climb and it’s possibly going to be even more divisive cos there’s no way it can fulfil everyone’s endless demands of it. But I’d hope it will close it all off satisfactorily. Don’t have a shopping list of demands personally. Be cool to see Anakin. That’s really all.

If JJ can build on what he made with TFA, there is potential there. I think JJ did well with his two Star Trek reboots, and there's no reason he can't do here as well, despite TLJ.

Compared to a universal rating system like imdb, it differs quite a bit.

No one cares what the algorithms think.

Every single person on this board is better than letting IMDb or rotten tomatoes or any of those things make their mind up for them or make their argument for them.
Fast and furious films have outstanding ratings on those platforms.
Has anyone here even read those places or left a review or rating? I doubt it.
Let’s not.

I love IMDB, and rate all my movies there. Lots of people do.

Still when someone claims their rating as universal, how you can you even measure it?

Very different. It’s not any kind of cultural force, and it doesn’t worship consensus.

I don't see much difference. The movie ratings on imdb and rym are usually fairly similar.

A New Hope 3.89 / 8.6
Empire 4.08 / 8.8
Return of the Jedi 3.66 / 8.3

Phantom Menace 2.28 / 6.5
Attack of the Clones 2.23 /6.6
Revenge of the Sith 2.83 / 7.6

The Force Awakens 3.27 / 8.0
Rogue One 3.12 / 7.8
The Last Jedi 3.05 / 7.2
Solo 2.93 / 7.0

TLJ is about the same, only Revenge is a bit lower on RYM. Unfairly so in my opinion.

Also RYM certainly has a form of consensus on types of music, and being stuck up against certain genres. More so than IMDB against any genre I think.
