It’s not about ratings, though. The problem with IMDb and RT is how they’re referred to culturally. They’ve both played a big role in debasing film criticism and appreciation.

RYM is not any kind of cultural touchstone.

For me it's about having a place to rate and look up movies and music, and how fair those ratings are. Of course I disagree with many of them, but that's not bad. that's a good starting place. It's the same for both RYM and IMDB.

Neither mean anything culturally here, and I can understand how it can rub you the wrong way, since it is different where you are from.

Further than that they’ve given certain people an out from thinking for themselves and worse, all those platforms are so easily meddled with to skew the ratings as we’ve seen with all the big franchises the past few years.
They should be abandoned and made obsolete.

On this, we agree.

Sounds like the internet, perhaps abandon it all. Go back to the 80s.

Let’s go back to the ‘50s, but keep our advances in race relations, women’s rights, LGBTQ rights, and medicine.

Think it was the Vikings that had a thing where if the leader of the clan wasn’t successful in bringing in riches and growing the tribe, he’d be deposed and decapitated.

LV and I agree on a lot more than you guys know.

He’s really not. Kylo bleeds onscreen like he hates the franchise he’s in and it’s beneath him.

Now who does that’s remind us of?

I’m rewatching all the movies with my girlfriend. We’ve seen five plus some highlights of the Clone Wars. Next movie is the original. Doubt it will change my ranking much, but I did enjoy Solo and Rogue One a lot.

These lists get bolder all the time.

That’s a very bold listing Joe. But I’m the same. Can never rank as the top half is always in flux
