Very much enjoyed episode 2 as well. I love Ali’s portrayal of old Hays. He’s able to communicate so much emotion it gives the (so far) simple plot this deep sense gravity and fear.

I wonder... if maybe he:
Spoiler: show
Compromised the investigation to protect her or the book... I find it hard to believe that a teacher would somehow be involved in the abductions

As if it needs to be said again... the acting has been phenomenal so far.

Apparently some pics from the set leaked that reveal major plot points of future episodes...best to avoid all TD discussion forums if you don't want it spoiled. I haven't seen them so I don't know what it's about.

Really digging everything about this season so far. Except for Ali being nearly impossible to understand.

I'm really digging this season. Just a hunch, but . . .
Spoiler: show
1. I think it's pretty clear that Lucy and her brother-in-law either know/knew something, or were involved. He's found dead and buried. She dies. In the 1980 scene at her kitchen table with Ameila, she goes on and on about doing "horrible things" and then lets slip "children should laugh" which is what was in that letter.

2. Somehow, I think the Attorney General (from 1990) is involved. There's the brown sedan, references to a higher cover-up, and then having part of the re-opening of the investigation in 1990 basically be to make sure the original conviction stands. I'm guessing 1990 is progressing where we see Roland and Wayne trying to find Julie Purcell before someone else does.
