It's not just the art either. Kirkman explores classic comic/superhero/villain tropes in a unique manner. I think he balances imitation (a lot of Superman and Spider-Man mimicry) and originality very well throughout the series.

Oh i see.

Anyway, im about to dig into the new Detective Comics...these one and Batman are becoming so weird, i hope the Bane payoff is spectacular because if not the whole thing will be a mess.

I'm a few issues behind on Detective. It's been hit or miss. The Bat-Family is too large. I'm good with the Robins (Dick, Jason, Tim, and Damian), Batwoman and the Batgirls (Barbara and Cassandra) but that's enough. Detective is full of characters I don't need.
