Re: Random Music News
Here's a new video by Yngwie Malmsteen, now fully locked into his "I am a burned-out musician in LA" era with a new album celebrating "the blues."

My first thought was "it's nice to hear him play with some restraint." My second thought was "and that counts as restraint!!!"theplatypus wrote:Here's a new video by Yngwie Malmsteen, now fully locked into his "I am a burned-out musician in LA" era with a new album celebrating "the blues."

Re: Random Music News
I wish more people understood this. I hate it when I'm listening to something and the entire field of sound is reduced because it gets too busy all of a sudden.

Re: Random Music News
I scrolled the list and most of these artists are the same size or smaller than my son's band. They should not be touring anywhere outside of a small and slowly growing local area, unless they get festival slots that they can at least break even on. At that size, yes they need jobs. They should be recording in their bedrooms as much as possible and treating albums like a year of university. It may cost money but you see where you are at the end of year four.theplatypus wrote:Found this article interesting and refreshing. Bands never really talk about this stuff

Cass McCombs is big enough to survive on his music alone but man does he have a chip on his shoulder. He's chosen to swim in a small pond, folk music and then resents what people in pop make.
