You’re dead to me.

They have no realtion but the Wire is essential.

Address the crime and watch the Wire or never speak to me again.
In fact, never show your face here again!

Good day sir!

The Wire is a lot better than The Last Jedi.

I’m over it. I forgive you both. You’re on notice though and will be reciving random reminders to watch the Wire.

I've never seen the wire. It's on my someday to do list. I'm sure it is wonderful but given my day job it's hard to get ramped up for darker/serious content like that. I'm sure once I bring myself to start I'd love it

Know for a fact you’ll love it. It’s so layered and complex and the weaving of the many arcs over the seasons is just so brilliant and satisfying.

Fascinating idea. (From force Center, durds)

Did Luke visit the dark side cave on Ach to? Did he see the mirror?
What did it show him? How could it have affected his decision to withdraw from the force and the galaxy?

I wouldn't think so. If he had visited the cave and it triggered his confrontation with Ben that would make sense, but they would have put that into the text of the movie. There are too many interesting things you can do with that for Rian Johnson to have left it out. And Luke doesn't NEED the cave to explain where the withdrawal came from. Luke's arc is in large measure not about his internal balance (as it was in the OT) but about his legacy - what does it mean to be Luke Skywalker, what does it mean to be a jedi, how do you measure up the myths and outsized expectations with the fact that in the end all Jedi are fallible and prone to weakness just like any other human (the raw materials of that are baked into the prequels (not the OT), even if Lucas didn't know what to do with it). Luke abandons the force because of his soul crushing failure with Ben - hard enough to endure on its own merits, and doubly difficult when you he measures himself up against the idea of Luke Skywalker

Luke obviously knows about the cave and knows that it's strong in the Dark Side. We know this because he tells Rey as much as is shocked that she makes no attempt to fight it when it reaches out to her.

However, Luke also tells Rey that he came to the island to die. I think he cut himself off from the Force upon arrival (if not before) and had no need or temptation to visit the cave. The real question, I think, is how long was Luke actually there? Knowing that might change my answer.

If he did go into the cave, I don't think he would have seen the mirror. I think he would have seen something different. The mirror was for Rey.

I think his despondency would have driven him to the cave. And being a dark side place probably gave him the answer he wanted and Fucked with his head.

Han says he went looking for the island. So did han and Leia know he’d given up and went there to quit? Doubtful. But they knew he was going. So it clashes against his ‘I came here to die’ in many ways.

*as to how long he was there, Pablo confirmed that like Mortis, Ahch to and force nexus locations distort time. It could well be he doesn’t think he’s been there all that long but in reys/the rest of the real time galaxy’s understandings he’s been gone for years. and that could in part explain his crankiness with her.

It's still possible he went there to give up and Han didn't know that was his reason, though. It's totally possible.

I have no idea how much I believe Luke about going there to die but it's all we have as of right now. And it makes a degree of sense. He went to a place where he didn't want to be found. That checks out to me.
